(2) - Starting in July 2007, "the study decontamination sites polluted by asbestos," on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development in Tunisia

The overall objective of the study is to establish a diagnosis of pollution from asbestos in the sites concerned, to assess the extent of the problems and risks associated with the environmental pollution, to explore alternatives the rehabilitation of these sites and ensure preventive measures to protect the environment and public health from the risks related to the use of asbestos in some industrial products.

The benefits of GEREP-environment include:

  1. Diagnostic assessment of the state of the places,
  2. Analysis and assessment of environmental and health risks associated with these polluted sites,
  3. Study of alternative modes and decontamination and site rehabilitation,
  4. Proposed alternatives for rebuilding a final of these sites,
  5. Techno-economic study in detail the optimal variant,
  6. Proposal of an action plan for the rehabilitation of the sites,
  7. Proposal for emergency measures, if necessary, to reduce health risks associated with asbestos,
  8. Proposal for a draft appropriate regulatory framework for the prevention of health and environmental risks posed by asbestos in the industrial sector and in products put on the Tunisian market.

These services will be performed by a team of experts comprising:

  1. An expert Management Specialist sites polluted by asbestos waste and the risks associated
  2. A specialist in environment, treatment and disposal of waste
  3. A specialist in industrial pollution
  4. An environmental lawyer

The deadline for this study is set at 285jours.
